Course P330 – Low-light Pistol is a one-day (8 hour) course of intermediate pistol instruction that teaches the employment of an individual sidearm in low-light conditions. The course combines the fundamentals of marksmanship mastery with the techniques for shooting with hand-held and weapon-mounted flashlights. This is a live-fire fighting class for shooting, searching, and scanning in the dark.
Students in this course participate in guided instruction, practical exercises, and live-fire examinations. Tactics and techniques covered include safe employment, grip technique, using light as concealment, moving from cover, tactical reloading, and low-light marksmanship at intermediate distances. The end-state of the course for the student is confidence with pistol engagement under diminished light conditions.
Students benefit from guided instruction by seasoned professionals who enforce solid fundamentals and deliver a structured format of live-fire practice drills. Through the duration of its one-day format, the course begins with manipulation and handling drills that progressively add speed, distance, and complexity. The pace of the course is timed for mastery of the hand gun and its employment by focusing on bedrock fundamentals.
