Course Q330 – Low-light Tactics is a two-day (16 hour) course of advanced tactical training for pistols and carbines used together in low-light conditions. The course builds on the basics of low-light marksmanship. This is a live-fire fighting class for shooting, searching, and scanning in the dark.
Students in this course participate in guided instruction, practical exercises, and live-fire examinations. Tactics and techniques covered include combat safety, fighting stance, grip technique, using light as concealment, moving from cover, tactical reloading, and low-light marksmanship at intermediate distances. The end-state of the course for the student is confidence in tactical engagements with carbines and pistol under diminished light conditions.
Students benefit from guided instruction by seasoned professionals who enforce solid fundamentals and deliver a structured format of live-fire practice drills. Through the duration of its two-day format, the course begins with manipulation and handling drills that progressively add speed, distance, and complexity. The pace of the course is timed for proficiency of arms and lights under low-light conditions.
